hse policy and strategy
1 HEALTH, SAFETY AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
It is our responsibility to protect the environment and the health and safety of our employees and the public. An excellent performance within HSE is a must for Bridge Energy, and it will be managed as an integral part of our business to the benefit our employees, shareholders and the public. Our leaders and employees are responsible for Bridge Energy’s achievement of continuous improvement.
We shall achieve our HSE policy by:
- Complying with all HSE laws and regulations.
- Working systematically to eliminate accidents and incidents.
- Working with employees, contractors and partners to promote responsible management of all processes.
- Encouraging constructive communication with our employees, contractors and partners about managing health, safety, and work environmental issues.
- Applying a measuring system for HSE to continuously monitor our performance.
- Systematically evaluating the effect of our management system to ensure learning and improvement.
2 EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT POLICY
Our goal is zero harm to the environment, and we are committed to continuous improvement in this process. Thus, we shall minimise negative environmental impact from our operations, and we shall communicate our environmental performance by issuing regular reports. In our drilling campaigns we shall be open for new and more environmentally friendly solutions, and shall seek to implement them.
We shall achieve this by:
2.1 General
- Implementing an environmental management system to insure systematic follow up. This includes the introduction of an environmental Key Performance Index (KPI) system, and a reporting system for all discharges and their impacts.
- Checking Contractors’ environmental practices and performance according to predefined criteria.
- Using impact assessment and environmental risk analyses.
- Preferring contractors who practice sound environmental solutions and have a systematic approach to environmental improvement.
2.2 Environmental management system and follow up of contractors
- Before drilling starts we shall implement an environmental management system to ensure systematic follow up and continuous environmental improvement.
- We shall define environmental KPI’s for our drilling operations which will be followed up on a regular basis.
- We shall record all discharges and their impacts. If accidental discharges occur, the causes shall be analyzed to prevent them from happening again.
- Contractors’ environmental practice and performance shall be reviewed according to predefined criteria. Contractors shall be HSE pre qualified in Achilles and be compliant with Norsok 06.
- We shall be prepared to handle accidental discharge.
2.3 Environmentally sensitive areas
- Impact assessment studies and environmental risk analysis shall constitute the basis for our operational solutions.
- Acceptance criteria shall be established and environmental risk shall be calculated for all planned discharges and accidental discharge.
- Special guidelines shall be developed for operations in particularly sensitive areas.
2.4 Zero discharge strategy
- Use and discharge of environmentally harmful chemicals shall be avoided as far as possible. If, however, found necessary for important technical/operational reasons, the use of these should be phased out as soon as acceptable alternatives are found.
- Produced water shall be managed according to regulatory requirements.
- Fall-out from well testing shall be minimised. Production test facilities taking care of produced fluids shall be used in vulnerable areas, and mini tests should be considered as alternatives to conventional testing.
2.5 Energy efficiency and waste management
- Energy efficiency shall be optimized in the running of every installation.
- Waste shall be managed according to the following priority: minimisation – reuse – recycling – energy recycling – deposit.
- Purchasing routines that will contribute to waste minimisation shall be implemented.
- All generated waste shall be sorted to facilitate for reuse or recycling.
